Personal Experiences

In the pages below, you will read about several young cancer spouses' unique, personal experiences with cancer. Fellow young cancer spouses wrote these accounts, and our staff has not edited them. They are firsthand experiences, and thus, each one reflects only one couple's experiences with that particular treatment. Some of the experiences are very scary to read, but many are not. We urge you to enter this section with caution and understand that each experience may or may not be the typical experience of most. While they may or may not apply or relate to your spouse's own experience, you can see the possible effects that certain drugs and treatments may have on a cancer patient. Until your spouse is well into treatment, much of the terminology may be foreign to you.

To better serve our fellow young cancer spouses, we want to hear from you. What is your story? With your help, we can more accurately portray the cancer experience.

Please keep in mind that the treatments presented below are purely informational and are not intended to substitute the treatments your spouse's doctor recommends specifically for him/her.
